Asphalt Pulverization

Asphalt pulverization is a process that pulverizes existing surface layers right in place, blending the asphalt layers with any sublayers, essentially creating a new paving mix using all of the old materials. If there are no elevation constraints, no pavement is hauled away, saving massive costs on excavating and trucking. Typically, no new material has to be brought in (though sometimes additives or a new overlay are suggested). Asphalt pulverization solves problems such as severe cracking and sharp edges by continuous traffic called “polishing,” and potholing.
